Summer!

This has nothing to do with decorating, its just and ode to Simple pleasures. It's corrupted the most die hard fitness addicts I know....Nuthin says Summer like a Slurpee! Anyone else have an addiction to a Coke Slurpee? I don't even love Coke, it's just the icy sugary goodness of a Slurp. After you've drank almost all of it, there's like these little ice chunks with a slushee cola residue. You know you want one..........

Antique adventures......

So we went to a furniture store to look for a table. We found a small table that could seat 2 Barbies (um yes... I'm exaggerating) it was like 200 dollars. Went to the antique store and found one for 50! Yay!! I'm Patting myself on the back for my money saving awesomeness! This antique store is so fun! The owner Connie, is so nice, and she jokes with you like you've known her for a zillion years! We got great deals today- check it out if your in Logan.

This little lady is trouble with a Capitol D! (diva) but it's my fault and I totally bought her those glasses! Shameful......

I LUV this chair! But my mom wouldn't let me buy another piece of patio furniture........ Just as well......

Happy 24th! From Alma and Emma Smith.....

Wow who are those two nerds trying to just take a picture of their eyes and NOT succeeding!

We got these screens for cheap! We'll have to come up w some project with them. It was a successful run to the best place on earth (a second hand store) Hope your summer is full of chaos and smiles like ours!

Chalk it up ....... To more chalk board decorating!

Soooo I never posted the rest of our chalk board creations. The reason this stuff is so fun is because you can paint it anywhere, the possibilities with it are endless. I love to glam it up a bit with cute glass plates or the chandelier in the blue room. Thanks to cute Dustin for the plate inspiration!.......

Maybe if I ate more like this I could lose a few!.........

We'd love to hear about your chalkboard creations!

Decorate with Games!

I have had these games for awhile. They have been dying to be out of the cupboard and be seen! I think this could be fab even if your games aren't old...

Stinkin cutest mom EVER! So ya, we were in a time crunch ( when are we not? ) I found this fabric in my stash and it wasn't quite big enough to wrap on this canvas. So we got out our trusty glue gun! I was worried but it totally worked!

I will admit I had a little heartache over gluing these cards because they are so old. But would I rather have them just sit in the cupboard? NO! So I just started with the circle of bingo cards, and worked my way out from there- it turned out cute! I'll probably add more someday when I have more time.......... So that means its probably staying this way...... ;)

I used these boxes to make a display, and section off this table as the "game" area. Ooooh how my basement needed some luv! Hope your fourth of July was amazing! Leave comments there's give aways coming soon! Ps. Roberta! We need your info. Again. We never got it on our email and we have your charm waiting! We've tried to find you through our follower link and failed. So try again.....

Wall finished...... Chalkboard fun

This turned out soo fun I'm lovin all the different things you can do with this wall! Chalkboard..... Woot woot! ;)

Feeling BLUE......

Painting my formal living room, and it's pretty blue! Not pretty like my little girl- pretty like over the top! It's actually chalkboard paint, so I have big plans for this room. We shall see if it wrks out...... Wish me luck..... And tune in next time to see if the blues brought a smile to my face?

LOTS of Helpers, needless to say the floor was also painted blue!

Decorating with loved stuff.....

This is a handkerchief that my great grandma embroidered her initial on, and used tatting to do the edge. I have it hung over my kitchen window. It reminds of her everyday, she was the ULtimate homemaker! I'll never forget her letting me punch down the bread dough, and all the rocks she had displayed in her living room. Love you grams- thanks for sparking the light of homemaking in me! Use your keepsakes in your house- let them shine and remind you of the people you love!

Punch up Your Porch for Summer!

Picture Perfect Porch Ideas...

Everyone needs a little get away of their own, but sprucing up a porch can be pricey! Here are a few budget friendly ideas to spice up your outdoor space!

Our cute Dad build this AMAZING bench out of an old bed frame found at a second hand store! LOVE IT!!!  When you are looking for old furniture for a project always look at the shape, it's easy to overlook a great piece when it isnt the color that you want. Just remember that you can paint just about anything!

Looking for the perfect pillow is tough and expensive! Covering an existing pillow is much cheaper and the best part is that you can change it whenever you want!

Bring the inside out! Paintings dont have to stay indoors, just make sure that you hang them on a wall that doesn't get hit by the sprinklers!

Crates are VERY in right now! With this little cutie we covered a piece of scrap wood with fabric and screwed it right to the top! To add a little height we attached some wheels to the bottom!

Wire baskets found in the kitchen section of a second hand store work GREAT for planters and hanging baskets!

Old metal buckets make GREAT planting pots! Just drill a few holes in the bottom for draining!

Wind chimes can be made out of almost anything! We used old egg beaters for this one, and they actually make a very pretty sound! Of course we had to bling it up a bit ;)

More on decorating porches.....

Funny story! So all of us girls love to go thrifting together and sometimes end up with other people things in our cars. I found these cute plastic diamonds in a sack and was so excited to do something fun with them, I couldnt quite remember where I had gotten them- but with all the junk I buy, I just thought "yay a treasure I've forgotten about!" I spray painted them cream and was positioning them in my wreath, the WHOLE time asking my lil sis's opinion! She just helped and gushed about how cute they were......... The next day my mom told me they were hers! She was just to embarrassed and to NICE to tell me!! Anyhow..... I love the lock and key motif, especially on my front door. Thanks Tay for letting me steal your cute decor...... ;)
