Studio 5 Challenge!

WOW! This was quite the challenge! But I think it  turned out pretty fabulous myself! The cute girls at Studio 5 sent us a “Challenge” in the mail, in the package were 31 dime sized red Bingo chips!!! We were puzzled to say the least! So we sat down and brain stormed and this is what we came up with!

The Bingo Chip Chandelier!!!

We needed a way to make the bingo chips appear bigger, so we decided to use soup can lids as a backdrop. We crinkled the lids with some needle nose pliers and spray painted them. Then we added some fabric, a button and the bingo chip! We covered the red on the chip with  black magic marker!

Then we pieced the chandelier together (a lot like you would with making jewelry), we used jewelry hardware, but you could also use ribbon or string! We attached the pieces to a round wire base (you could use really anything for this including a simple lamp shade) then we attached it  to a light fixture that we found at a second hand store (or you could use a light kit from any hardware store)!

To hang up our chandelier we just bent a couple of old forks and screwed them into the ceiling! Works like a charm!

And that is it my friends! Some other fun ways to use these fun bingo chips would be as tags for Christmas presents, ornaments or magnets! The list could go on and on! Thanks so much to Studio 5 for sending us this FUN challenge! Keep em coming girls!

OH MAMA!!!!

So as you probably ALL know, my mother is a GENIUS!!!! She always comes up with the best ideas!!! This is her latest!

As she was making some slip covers for her family room pillows she thought it might be cute to have some kind of image on the front. So What does she do? ... She Spray paints them! ( Mom I LOVE YOU!!!) All she did was take some vinyl that has been cut to whatever image you could want, she picked the vinyl so that it made a stencil, then she stuck her stencil onto the fabric and spray painted it! As I said GENIUS!!!!

After the paint dries you just peel off your sticker and you have a FREAKING FABULOUS pillow!

LOVE IT!!!!!

Fun Basics for Your Outdoor Space!

Just because Summer is almost over doesn’t mean you can’t still have a fabulous yard! We at Chikkaboom have come up with a few fun and creative ways to spice things up in your outdoor space!

Bicycles are a perfect addition to any outdoor space! Here we have wrapped some fun fabric through spokes and around handles to add a POP of color!

We found this basket at a second hand store and attached it to the back of the bike! This basket fit PERFECT but any basket would work!

Depending on the season (and your mood) you can fill your basket with twigs, pumpkins or some sprigs from a winter spruce!

Another fun item to use in your yard are chairs, not just for sitting you know ;) ! Here we spray painted a couple of old chair and hung them on the fence! They make GREAT shelves for anything from planting pots to Spooky jack O lanterns, or I think they are pretty darn cute all by themselves!

As the weather cools down we always love a good campfire in the evenings. Here we took an old buffet table and turned it into a Do it Yourself Hot Dog Stand!

These SO cute cones are made out of rolled scrapbook paper and mesh or chicken wire! Filled them with some fun greenery!

Summer!

This has nothing to do with decorating, its just and ode to Simple pleasures. It's corrupted the most die hard fitness addicts I know....Nuthin says Summer like a Slurpee! Anyone else have an addiction to a Coke Slurpee? I don't even love Coke, it's just the icy sugary goodness of a Slurp. After you've drank almost all of it, there's like these little ice chunks with a slushee cola residue. You know you want one..........

Antique adventures......

So we went to a furniture store to look for a table. We found a small table that could seat 2 Barbies (um yes... I'm exaggerating) it was like 200 dollars. Went to the antique store and found one for 50! Yay!! I'm Patting myself on the back for my money saving awesomeness! This antique store is so fun! The owner Connie, is so nice, and she jokes with you like you've known her for a zillion years! We got great deals today- check it out if your in Logan.

This little lady is trouble with a Capitol D! (diva) but it's my fault and I totally bought her those glasses! Shameful......

I LUV this chair! But my mom wouldn't let me buy another piece of patio furniture........ Just as well......

Happy 24th! From Alma and Emma Smith.....

Wow who are those two nerds trying to just take a picture of their eyes and NOT succeeding!

We got these screens for cheap! We'll have to come up w some project with them. It was a successful run to the best place on earth (a second hand store) Hope your summer is full of chaos and smiles like ours!

Chalk it up ....... To more chalk board decorating!

Soooo I never posted the rest of our chalk board creations. The reason this stuff is so fun is because you can paint it anywhere, the possibilities with it are endless. I love to glam it up a bit with cute glass plates or the chandelier in the blue room. Thanks to cute Dustin for the plate inspiration!.......

Maybe if I ate more like this I could lose a few!.........

We'd love to hear about your chalkboard creations!
